Large-scale food production and processing on the Ssese Islands
The Ssese Spring Islands Integrated Agro-Industrial Project is a large-scale food production and processing initiative located on Uganda's Ssese Islands. The project combines commercial fish farming with modern meat processing and value-added food manufacturing to reduce post-harvest losses and improve access to high-quality protein products.
By meeting international hygiene and export standards, the project strengthens food security, creates employment, and positions Uganda for regional and export food markets.
